The team participating in the SOS PRADERAS project on behalf of Uniovi is linked to the Departamento de Biología de Organismos y Sistemas, BOS (Department of Organisms and Systems Biology) and the Instituto de Recursos Naturales y Ordenación del Territorio, INDUROT (Institute of Natural Resources and Territorial Planning).
The staff members are highly experienced in characterization and management of Natura 2000 sites and environmental restoration: Characterisation of Habitats of Community Interest in Spain; Inventory of Habitats of Community Interest in PLIs of Asturias; Habitat and distribution of species of the Habitat Directive in Asturias; Recovery and protection plans of natural sites, etc.

Consorcio Parque Natural de los Picos de Europa

El Consorcio del Parque Nacional de Picos de Europa (Consortium of the National Park “Picos de Europa”) is the competent authority in the conservation of protected species and sites. It manages the territory as an entity of national protection of prime importance (National Park) and also (National Park) and also Natura 2000 network and Biosphere Reserve.
This entity holds a wealth of experience in management and in particular, it has been active in the field of conservation of hay meadows since 2011, from a triple perspective: conservation of flora, butterflies and traditional agricultural practices.
With this project the organisation aims to transfer management experiences to other Red Natura 2000 sites and the possibility of implementing innovative methodologies that could lead to advances in the conservation of hay meadows at the speed required by their fast disappearance (and thus, the natural and cultural heritage involved).

- LIFE09 NAT/ES/513: Programme including urgent actions for the conservation of the capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus cantabricus) and its habitat in the Cantabrian range of mountains. 2010-2016.
- LIFE11 TREMEDAL NAT/ES/707: Coastal wetlands of the Northern Iberian Peninsula: Management and restoration of mires and hygrophilous environments. October 2012-October 2015.

TheConservatoire botanique Pyrénéen is a public entity with 15 years of authorisation from the French Ministry of Ecology (article L.414-10 of the Environment Code) to perform activities pertaining to the recognition and conservation of wild flora and natural habitats..
The administrators of protected sites will be supported in the activities related to identification and conservation of species, populations and rare and/ or threatened habitats. Furthermore, it will provide the project, on behalf of the State, with technical support in collaboration with operators from Natura 2000 Network, bringing their experience in phytosociology through protocols to follow up the vegetation and in management measures.
Back in 2000 the CBNPMP started a dynamic recovery of the local flora for the revegetation of high altitude terrains. The Pyrégraine Neou indicator, presented by the CBN may identify seeds of local origin. A production line of seeds was established in cooperation with the farmers.

Semillas Silvestres, S.L.

Semillas Silvestres is specialised in the production of native Iberian seeds. For over 25 years they have been collecting and producing seeds from wild populations for productions of forest nurseries, landscaping and environmental correction. The last ten years the company has started a process towards the production of native species through the cultivation of seeds without selection to upgrade their productive system without erosion of wild populations.

Semillas Silvestres currently participates as a beneficiary partner in the European project FP 7 NASSTEC (The Native Seed Science, Technology and Conservation. Initial Training Network) Marie Curie ITN. Contract Nº PITN-GA-2013-2018. As part of this project, we house and lead the research project of two PhD students at our facilities. The findings of PhD works will be published in outstanding scientific journals related to agronomy and the environment.

Diputación General de Aragón
Lead Beneficiary
The Directorate general for Sustainability is the administrative and competent unit of the Government of Aragon in the field of conservation of wild habitats, in particular those of community interest, and in the management of protected natural areas and Natura 2000 Network sites in the province of Aragon.
Their participation in proyecto SOS Praderas focuses on the development of techniques for the conservation of habitats of community interest in protected natural areas and in the Natura 2000 Network, achieving at the same time a potential benefit for the local population through new opportunities and products to maintain agro-livestock practices linked to these habitats.

The Directorate general for Sustainability has managed European projects in the framework of Interreg and Life, both as associated partners and as coordinating beneficiaries. In the last 10 years the entity has participated as coordinating beneficiary in three projects and as beneficiary partner in two further projects.
