COOPERATION

Action GT-3

Cooperation between managing areas of natural zones

Cooperation between managing areas of natural zones

SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
The selected territory, temperate mountains of the Pyrenean – Cantabrian axis, and NOT Portugal, face conservation problems of common mesophile hay meadows. The aim is to work jointly under the umbrella of a LIC pilot network to try to halt the process.

This task force aims to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge relating to the management of hay meadows between managers of different protected natural zones within the SUDOE territory and to develop joint methods for their conservation, which can also lead to profitable economic benefits. The coordination of this task force will be led by PNPE, project beneficiary and direct manager of a protected area. IPB, INIAV, CBNPMP and DGA will organise technical study visits to protected areas within their territories and SESIL will attend the visits to bring their experience as a company in the field of seed production and to familiarise itself with the real situation of the hay meadows in situ, as a preliminary step towards the development of production and marketing joint methods (GT6 and GT7) of wild seeds from hay meadows.
