Consorcio Parque Natural de los Picos de Europa<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nBeneficiary Partner<\/span><\/h2>\n
El Consorcio del Parque Nacional de Picos de Europa (Consortium of the National Park \u201cPicos de Europa\u201d)<\/span> <\/strong>is the competent authority in the conservation of protected species and sites. It manages the territory as an entity of national protection of prime importance (National Park) and also (National Park) and also Natura 2000<\/strong> network and Biosphere Reserve.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
This entity holds a wealth of experience in management and in particular, it has been active in the field of conservation of hay meadows<\/strong> since 2011, from a triple perspective: conservation of flora, butterflies and traditional agricultural practices.<\/span><\/p>\n
With this project the organisation aims to transfer management experiences to other Red Natura 2000<\/strong> sites and the possibility of implementing innovative methodologies that could lead to advances in the conservation of hay meadows at the speed required by their fast disappearance (and thus, the natural and cultural heritage involved).<\/span><\/p>\n

TheConservatoire botanique Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9en <\/span> <\/strong>is a public entity with 15 years of authorisation from the French Ministry of Ecology<\/strong> (article L.414-10 of the Environment Code) to perform activities pertaining to the recognition and conservation of wild flora and natural habitats.<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
The administrators of protected sites will be supported in the activities related to identification and conservation of species, populations and rare and\/ or threatened habitats. Furthermore, it will provide the project, on behalf of the State, with technical support in collaboration with operators from Natura 2000 Network, bringing their experience in phytosociology through protocols to follow up the vegetation and in management measures.<\/span><\/p>\n
Back in 2000 the CBNPMP<\/span><\/strong> started a dynamic recovery of the local flora for the revegetation of high altitude terrains. The\u00a0Pyr\u00e9graine Neou<\/strong> indicator, presented by the\u00a0CBN\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>may identify seeds of local origin. A production line of seeds was established in cooperation with the farmers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Semillas Silvestres<\/span><\/strong> is specialised in the production of native Iberian seeds.<\/strong> For over 25 years they have been collecting and producing seeds from wild populations for productions of forest nurseries, landscaping and environmental correction.
